Discreet & Effective Orthodontic Treatment

Are the most noticeable features of your smile your crowded or misaligned teeth? Many people choose not to correct orthodontic issues that impact their oral health and confidence because they don’t want to commit to having their mouth overrun with metal brackets and wires for a year or more. That’s why, at Wehrkamp Dentistry, we offer several orthodontic treatments, including Invisalign in Brandon, to ensure that our patients are able to choose a treatment that best fits their needs and daily lives.  To learn more about Invisalign and whether this modern solution can help fix the unique issues you face, contact our office today to schedule a consultation.

How Does Invisalign Treatment Work?

The first step of the Invisalign process is to have your oral structure examined by Dr. Scott Wehrkamp, our trained orthodontic specialist. We’ll capture images of your mouth and conduct a visual examination to determine whether Invisalign treatment is the best option for you. Once you decide you’d like to move ahead with the process, we’ll develop a customized treatment plan and capture impressions of your teeth to create a model that we’ll send to our Invisalign laboratory. There, they’ll make your aligners from a smooth, discreet, FDA-approved plastic. Each set of aligners are meant to fit differently, so as you advance through your treatment, your teeth will continue moving into their ideal positions.

When your trays arrive, we’ll walk you through how to clean them and how to put them in your mouth. You’ll need to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day, only taking them out of your mouth when you’re eating, drinking anything besides water, or brushing and flossing your teeth. Every six to eight weeks, you’ll visit our office for a quick checkup so we can give you your next series of aligners.

What Problems Can Invisalign Fix?

Many patients aren’t aware of how versatile Invisalign treatment is. Your aligners will provide both cosmetic and health benefits and can fix a variety of orthodontic issues, including some of the following.

Bite Misalignment

When your bite isn’t aligned, it can cause a variety of issues, including digestion problems, jaw pain, and oral health issues. Invisalign aligners can adjust mild to moderate overbite, underbite, and crossbite to improve your oral and overall health.

Crowded Teeth

Teeth that are bunched together can make you feel embarrassed of your smile. They can also increase your risk of plaque and tartar accumulation. Invisalign trays can act to gently shift crowded teeth into their ideal, side-by-side positions.

Gaps Between Teeth

If your teeth are unevenly spaced, it can make you feel like part of your smile is missing. Invisalign aligners can close gaps between your teeth to create a completed-looking arch of teeth and reduce your risk of plaque buildup.
